Quilt For PalestinE

We are making a community quilt in love and solidarity with Palestine, and we would love for you to join in! Our hearts are utterly broken by all we have witnessed the Palestinian people enduring for the last 75 years of brutal occupation, and since the assault on Gaza over the last six months. While we use our voices for change, we will also turn our hands to action to make a difference to those that have lost everything. You don’t have to be an expert quilter. You just need to have a heart, two hands and a few materials to make your square quilt block.

It can be pieced, appliqued or just squares of fabric. It can be printed, dyed, stitched, and free-styled. The only important things is that your final fabric square measures 12” x 12”. This includes 1/2” seam allowance all around. ( This is inches! Just spelling out in case some of you work in cm and mm, like I do).

There will be a Meet Up in Sheffield on the 30th of March 2024, hosted by Sheffield Families for Gaza , to kick off the quilting, but you are more than welcome and invited to join in online, if you cannot physically make it.

We will hold a fundraiser for Palestinian AID organisations once the quilt is complete. More will be announced in due time.

If you come across this page and you want to contribute to the project, but do not want to sew, why not inpire others, and send us a square drawing or painting too. We will feature these as well as photos the completed quilt blocks on or Instagram page @QuiltForPalestine. Please tag us if you share your and tag #quiltforpalestine.

We would like invite every sewer, maker, artist, drawer, painter to send in their work via email to contact@sandradieckmann.com or post (address below), accompanied with a little statement we can share.

Please email me with any questions.

Post your quilt square to: Sandra Dieckmann / Unit 2 / Chaucer Yard / S14TB Sheffield.

Power not Pity!
